What you get
- Plans sheet: one row per plan and delivery area with provider, plan, rate type, term, renewable share, cancellation fee, and the listed average price per kWh at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 kWh. A link to each plan's Electricity Facts Label is on the row.
- Your usage: type your monthly kWh in one cell and every plan gets an estimated monthly cost. Filter by delivery area and sort.
- Lowest at 1,000 kWh: the ten lowest listed prices per delivery area, leaving out plans flagged for usage-based fees or credits.
- Area context: EIA residential averages for Texas utilities and retail providers.
- Data dictionary and sources for every column.
How the estimate works
Each plan lists an average price per kWh at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 kWh. The workbook multiplies price by kWh for those three points and draws straight lines between them for your usage, extending the nearest line outside that range. Your real bill depends on your meter, season, usage pattern, taxes and the plan's own terms.
Read this before you rely on it
- It is a snapshot from 2026-11-01. Plans change daily; the live list is at powertochoose.org.
- Plans with usage-based fees or credits, time-of-use pricing, prepaid billing or variable rates can cost very differently from the averages shown.
- Which plans you can get depends on your address.
- The workbook does not recommend a provider, and a low listed price is not a promise of a low bill or of any savings.
